All Bookmarks in One Place With Del.icio.us

Everyone bookmarks their favorite websites. I have a hard time remembering my favorite ones, and especially the new ones that I have just discovered. So I can't do without my bookmarks, and that isn't much of a problem since every browser has bookmarking features. That is if I only work on one computer. Now reality is I use more than one computers, two at home and two in the office. Now that's where my problem starts, how to keep my bookmarks in sync in all those computers, especially when I constantly add new bookmarks, almost daily. That's where del.icio.us comes to the rescue. Del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website that store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too.

How does it work? Quite simple. First you create an account on del.icio.us by registering yourself. You then have a username and password to login to your bookmark collection. After registering, you'll install the del.icio.us buttons, which look like this:

To add bookmarks, when you are at the webpage you want to save as bookmark, just click the Tag button or the post to del.icio.us link. You will be presented a page to describe your bookmark and to add the tag for categorization.

To access your bookmarks, just click the del.icio.us button or the my del.icio.us link. And you will be taken to your collection on the del.icio.us site. If you have previous logged in and have not logged out, then you will be taken directly to your collection. However if you have previously logged out on that computer, you will be required to log in first.
